The Book Lady Bookstore, established in 1978, continues to offer a broad range of gently used, rare, out-of-print and also new books. Located in the heart of Savannah’s historic district at 6 E. Liberty Street, the shop currently has over 40 genres of both fiction and nonfiction, hardbacks and paperbacks. Our rooms of books include an extensive collection of Georgia and Southern history, literary fiction and bestsellers, art and photography, architecture and New Urbanism, poetry, literary biography and memoir, classics, women’s studies, military history, foreign places and travel, small press, essays, philosophy, African-American, children’s, cooking, music, graphic novels, science and nature. We also have a large collection of first editions, collectible, signed, fine bindings and scarce titles.
All books are hand-picked by the shop’s proprietor, and reflect an appreciation of great literature and quirky, hard-to-find histories. Frequent public author events both at the shop and off-site are listed on our website and facebook page. Bookshop hours are currently 7 days a week: Mon-Saturday 10-5:30, Sundays, 10-4:00. There is a Wifi cafe serving coffee & tea, plenty of places to sit, and we are within walking distance of just about everything in Savannah’s beautiful historic district.
